Jennifer Lea Reed, CPDT
Before following her interest in animal behavior, Jennifer had a full career as an award-winning news and financial reporter, editor and group publisher (M.S. in Journalism, Columbia University). She studied dog behavior and training in an intensive 12-week internship at the ASPCA under the guidance of nationally known behaviorist Dr. Pamela Reid and the ever-popular Animal Precinct trainer Victoria Wells, CPDT. Jennifer launched Big Apple Dog School in the spring of 2006 with fellow D is for Doggy trainer Randall David Cook, but now is happy to call the D is for Doggy Training Academy home. She uses the same skills that enabled her to uncover the heart of a story to get to the bottom of those unwanted behaviors that threaten the relationship between owner and dog.
Randall David Cook, CPDT
Trainer Randall Cook holds an International MBA from the Moore School of Business at USC and spent much of his early career as a teacher and a Human Resources specialist. But like many of his fellow New Yorkers, he decided to make a major life change after the September 11 attacks. In 2002 he co-founded pet care business The Zoo Crew with Jennifer Reed, and, after working with many dogs with specific behavioral issues, became interested in dog training. He then interned at the ASPCA, where he studied with renowned instructors Dr. Pamela Reid and Victoria Wells. In 2006 he and Reed co-founded Big Apple Dog School, a dog-training program taught in Central Park and developed specifically for urban dogs using the most advanced methods of positive reinforcement. And now he's delighted to be an instructor at the D is for Doggy Training Academy. |
